Yogurt tiramisu

A lightened-up twist on the classic.

What if you could enjoy all the flavour and creaminess of iconic tiramisu with a lighter, more wholesome twist? Enter yogurt tiramisu, a minimalist version made with protein and probiotic-rich homemade yogurt in place of mascarpone, eggs, and refined sugar. This version cuts back on sugar without sacrificing that signature creamy, coffee-soaked indulgence. The result is every bit as satisfying and is special enough for dessert yet nourishing enough for breakfast.

Best of all, yogurt tiramisu comes together in minutes. The hardest part is waiting for the biscuits to soften. After a few hours in the fridge, you’ll have a soft, rich, spoonable dessert that looks and tastes a lot like the original.

Yogurt tiramisu is the perfect recipe if you’re looking for a lighter dessert option, or just another delicious way to enjoy homemade yogurt.

Perfect meal prep

Yogurt tiramisu is also ideal for meal prep and actually improves with time, with the biscuits softening and the layers melding into a beautifully creamy texture. Make one large dish or portion into individual serves for easy grab-and-go snacks. Whatever size you choose, Luvele Fresh vacuum canisters are the perfect storage solution — zero plastic, airtight, transportable, and designed to keep your food fresh for longer.

Choose your biscuit

For a more traditional flavour, opt for ladyfingers — but don’t feel limited. Biscoff biscuits add a delicious caramel note that is sooooo good. Malt biscuits, Marie, digestives, graham crackers, ginger snaps or chocolate ripple all work well, giving you the freedom to create different flavour variations each time a tiramisu urge arises.

Gluten free? Simply use your favourite gluten-free biscuits or a homemade alternative.

Be generous with your biscuit to achieve those soft, cakey layers once soaked.

Homemade yogurt

Any homemade yogurt will work — dairy or plant-based. For the most luxurious result, use thick yogurt only. If needed, strain your yogurt for about an hour to achieve a Greek-style consistency.

Coffee

Freshly brewed espresso delivers the best flavour but use it sparingly to avoid bitterness. Prefer a coffee-free version? Simply leave it out — the biscuits will still soften, just a little more slowly.

Serves 2–3: Use the measurements as a guide and scale up as needed.
